The British and Commonwealth Ladies Luncheon Club is an English-speaking social club formed in the late 50’s as a valuable meeting point for the, then, many wives of British Government and civil representatives in Hamburg. It is one of the oldest English- speaking clubs in the city, and continues, unchanged in meeting once a month for luncheon in various restaurants and clubs within Hamburg. Other activities include: Duplicate Bridge and theatre visits. The membership year runs from September to June. Ladies holding a passport or having a husband or parent from Britain or any Commonwealth country are eligible for membership. Ladies with nationality or association other than above may apply for membership provided the number of such members does not exceed one-third of the total membership.
